1. About the service

otakko ("the Service") is a free anime tracking web application available at otakko.app. It allows users to track their anime watching progress, rate shows, and discover new anime. The Service is operated by an individual based in Spain.

2. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

3. Account registration

To use most features, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and current information
  • Keep your login credentials secure
  • Not create multiple accounts for abusive purposes
  • Be at least 16 years old

You can register using email/password or Google sign-in. Email accounts require email verification before full access is granted.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
  • Use automated tools to scrape or overload the Service
  • Upload harmful content or spam
  • Impersonate another person
  • Interfere with the operation of the Service

5. Content and data

Anime information displayed on otakko is sourced from third-party APIs (AniList, MyAnimeList/Jikan). We do not claim ownership of this data.

Your personal tracking data (lists, ratings, notes) belongs to you. You can request export or deletion at any time per our Privacy Policy.

6. Availability and changes

The Service is provided "as is" without guarantees of uptime or availability. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, otakko and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of data
  • Interruption of service
  • Inaccuracies in anime information
  • Unauthorized access to your account due to your own negligence

8. Account termination

You may delete your account at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, without prior notice.

9. Intellectual property

The otakko name, logo, and original code are the property of the operator. The Service is open-source under its respective license on GitHub. Anime cover images and metadata are the property of their respective rights holders.

10. Third-party services

The Service integrates with third-party providers (Google, AniList, Resend). Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in Spain. For EU consumers, mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence also apply.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Material changes will be communicated via the platform or email.
